| Reinsurance Programs
In 2000, Gettysburg National Indemnity (SAC) Ltd. (“Gettysburg”) was
formed in Hamilton, Bermuda to strengthen and enhance Norwich Group’s
participation and capacity in the specialty commercial insurance market.
Gettysburg is organized as a Bermuda domiciled segregated cell reinsurance
company - which provides program managers with a vehicle to participate in
the underwriting risk of their particular program.
Since its inception, Gettysburg has returned more than $5 million of committed funds to program managers. Beginning in 2007, the Norwich Group increased Gettysburg’s underwriting capacity by raising committed capital from outside investors. This allows Gettysburg to participate in the underwriting results of the programs and provide select capacity to serve current and future Norwich Group customers. By adding capacity to Gettysburg, the Norwich Group is committed to the program management sector and our goal of inspired profit creation across all program sectors. |
